THE MEANING BEHIND THE DESIGN
The platypus is one of the most interesting animals that I've made an anatomy print of. They are one of the few mammals that lay eggs in the world. Platypuses are also one of the few mammals that have electroreceptors which are located in the skin of their bills and used to receive electrical stimuli such as muscle contractions. They use this sixth sense to find their preferred prey, it works especially well in murky and/or deep waters. They are as cute as a button, but beware, during breeding season the male platypus can secrete venom from little spikes on their hind legs. It isn't powerful enough to kill a human, but it will leave a sore area and excruciating pain for days (possibly).
